Terry Kennedy, aka “Compton Ass Terry” or TK just made Professional skating so fu*kin sexy!
This Long Beach, California native is a African-American professional skateboarder that has brought a whole new swag to the sport.
I mean can’t we break the stereotypes and get our skate on too?
Mr. Kennedy has “his own sneaker line, a skateboard shop, a rap group, sponsors such as baker, supra, boost mobile, krew, venture and brigade footwear and a upcoming BET reality show premiering October 12, 2010 ” all at the tender age of twenty-five years old.
But, don’t get it twisted, this Lil Soulja got a Lil thug in him.
“Kennedy grew up in a rough part of Long Beach. His mom died from drugs and his dad left the family when Kennedy was just three years old.
Kennedy was raised by his grandmother and credits her for being his anchor growing up. Kennedy later discovered skateboarding and started to make a name for himself in the sport.
In June 2005, Terry was shot two times, once in the jaw, and once in the forearm, while leaving a party in Long Beach.”
However, despite his humble beginnings he’s another example of what defying the odds is all about.
Mr. Kennedy is about to inspire young boys especially Black teenage boys around the world and I ain’t mad at cha!
