Essence truly does remind us of how ~ My Black is Beautiful!
Our lovely women pulled out all the stops as they walked the black carpet at the 3rd Annual Essence Black Women in Music event.
The honoraries for the evening was the lovely Kelly Rowland (who by the way, has been having an awesome year), and music industry extraordinaire, Ms. Sylvia Rhone.
Before I recognize Ms. Kelly Rowland let me respect the queen and take a moment to give you guys some insight of the one and only Ms. Sylvia Rhone.
Sylvia Rhone is an American music industry icon in my opinion. “She served as President of Universal Motown Record until 2011.”
“She has overseen a roster of artists in the Universal Motown lineup including Lil Wayne, and the Cash Money artists, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Kid Cudi, Nelly, Melanie Fiona, Akon, Erykah Badu, and Stevie Wonder.”
"Prior to her Universal Motown role, Ms. Rhone served as chairman and CEO of the Elektra Entertainment Group (EEG). Her appointment in 1994 as chairman and CEO of EEG established her as the only African American and the first woman in the history of the recording industry to attain such a title.”
So since where in the spirit of Black History Month, lets celebrate a women who is redefining history . . . Congratulations Ms. Sylvia Rhone as Essence “celebrates the accomplishments of the most influential movers and shakers in the music industry.”
Kelendria Trene “Kelly” Rowland is an American singer, songwriter, actress, television personality, trendsetter and one of the most beautiful women in the world.
We all know her as one of the founding members of the super-duper successful girl group Destiny’s Child; however, in recent times it’s all about KELLY ROWLAND!
After the success of Rowland’s single “Motivation” featuring Lil Wayne this lil momma has been everywhere. I love the fact that she is not just an American star, Kelly is known all over the world and in 2011, “joined the judging panel on the eighth series of the British reality television competition The X Factor.”
At thirty years of age, Ms. Kelly Rowland is confident, beautiful, intelligent, memorizing, and a 100% sexy ass woman . . . Not to mention, a mover and shaker in the music industry.
So fam’ lets stand up and give a round of applause to Ms. Kelly Rowland!
