Fam' today is Saturday, February 4, 2012 and I, B'wood have been in bed all day.
Today, I was determined to finish a book my friend recommended titled "The Upside Of The Down Low ~ A pastor's wife's memoir" by Yolanda King Stephen.
Now here in Atlanta, GA the weather outside has been cloudy, feels like 60 degrees, with winds from SE at 5 mph. So today is definitely a perfect day to cuddle up with a good book.
Now this true story happen in 2010 in Columbus, GA, however, somehow I didn't hear about it. However, I'm here to spread the word, because Ms. Yolanda King Stephen story needs to be heard.
This beautiful Queen captivated my attention from page 1 to page 154, and I finished feeling depleted and in awe of how things sometimes are not what they appear.
Now I know alot of churchgoers may not agree with her story, or perhaps this book may rub some people the wrong way, however, she has a voice and it needs to be heard.
With all the drama going on with New Birth Missionary Baptist church here in Atlanta, Georgia with Bishop Eddie Long, I truly think Ms. Yolanda King Stephen may want to recommend her book to Bishop's wife Mrs. Vanessa Long. I have a feeling (and this is just my opinion) that they stories may have some similarities.
Mechell Clark ~ Resilient Living stated Yolanda King Stephen is "candid, brave, heartbreaking, and yet somehow manages to remain inspiring", and I couldn't have said it better myself.
So if your an avid reader such as myself please support Yolanda King Stephen and visit www.upsidebook.com and get your copy of "The Upside Of the Down Low ~ A pastor's wife's memoir".
Side Bar ~ For some reason I would love to meet Ms. Yolanda King Stephen. I know perhaps she may not agree with my lifestyle choice, yet, I think this sassy Georgia Native would love me all the same.
