The Dame Who Always Did It Her Way!

Dame Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor. . . better known as Liz Taylor passed away March 23, 2011 at 79 years young.

Just the name alone is one of a kind.

Liz Taylor was fierce, feisty, in-your-face, secure, self-asserting, drop-dead, gorgeous, seductive, sexy, women that stole our hearts.

She is one of the great actresses that is in a league of her own . . . You cannot mention Hollywood glamour, without mentioning Elizabeth Taylor.

Our starlet was born in a “wealthy district of North West London; however, her parents were originally from Arkansas City, Kansas. Therefore, she was a dual citizen of the UK and the U.S., since she was born a British subject through her birth on British soil and an American citizen through her parents.”

“Her father Francis Lenn Taylor was an art dealer, and her mother Sara Viola Warmbrodt was a former actress whose stage name was “Sara Sothern.”

“At the tender age of nine this dark head beauty appeared in her first motion picture ‘There’s One Born Every Minute’ . . . However, little did they know this one born was a star in the making.

Initially, Universal pictures thought she was just another pretty face . . . “Edward Muhl, the studio’s production chief said “ she can’t sing, she can’t dance, she can’t perform. What’s more, her mother has to be one of the most unbearable women it has been my displeasure to meet.”

Clearly, she was the stage mother from hell.

However, undeniably her mother’s presence paid off, because in 1960 Ms. Taylor became the “highest paid actress up to that time when she signed a one million dollar contract to play the title role in 20th Century Fox’s lavish production of Cleopatra.”

Beyond her film roles, Liz Taylor was known for her seven marriages, exquisite jewelry collection, long-time friendship to Michael Jackson, and AIDS –related charities and fundraising.

She truly was a woman ahead of her time, and will be missed.

She always said, “White Diamonds . . . The fragrance dreams are made of.”

However, the world needs to know :

“Elizabeth Taylor . . . Is what legends are made of”  . . . ~ B’wood
