Mr. Derek Blanks has done it again. . . . He crowns himself as the “Connoisseur of Imagery, and rightfully so.
Somehow he stretches the imagination and has us mesmerized by his illustrations, graphic design, painting and photography.
Definitely he’s a force to be wreckin’ with.
He’s taking the world by storm, yet, with Southern flair.
He’s originally from Mississippi, however, currently resides in Atlanta, GA.
This young man is a role model and in my opinion deserves the prestigious “NAACP Image Awards: which recognizes and celebrates outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts (motion picture, television, recording, and literature) as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors."
I dare to say he’s becoming our modern day Gordon Parks.
I remember at Howard University people would laugh and say . . . Ummm, hmm . . . that person is “special” their a little "touched", rather "eccentric" . . . You know their in the school of Fine Arts.
I wish I could take back the hands of time and say DAMN RIGHT!
Those students are our Special Talents and ICONS in the makin’.
