Alaina Reed Hall Dead At 63
Alaina Reed Hall who played the character Rose from 227 passed away at age 63 after a longtime battle with breast cancer. The TV sitcom "227", which starred Marla Gibbs, had a five year run during the 80's (1985-90). In addition to her work on 227, Hall also played Olivia, Gordon's younger sister' on Sesame Street. She also had guest roles on shows such as "Ally McBeal", "Friends" and "A Different World".
Alaina was born in 1946 in Springfireld, Ohio, and was an original cast member of the 1974 Off-Broadway production of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band on the Road". During her career she appeared in television and movies, including the films "Death Becomes Her", "Cruel Intentions" and "A-Date" in 2007.
Alaina was married a total of three times, with her first marriage producing two children. Her second marriage was to a co-star, Kevin Peter Hall, who began starring as Rose's love interest on "227". The two began a real-life romantic relationship in 1988 and eventually married. Kevin Hall passed away in 1991, due to complications of AIDS from a blood transfusion.
While she had other roles, Alaina Reed Hall will be best known as Rose from 227, who was the kindhearted best friend to other characters, and eventually became the landlord of the famous residence for four years on the show.

She was a young 63.....she will be missed. I used to watch 227 when it came on
