Maia Campbell From In The House

I became overwhelmed with sadness when I saw this video.

"Her mother Bebe Moore Campbell was the author of three New York Times bestsellers, Brothers and Sisters (my favorite), Singing in the Comeback Choir, and What You Owe Me."

Unfortunately after her mother died from brain cancer, at age 56 many said Maia Campbell went downhill.

Being from Cali I met her mother at my family church First A.M.E. (F.A.M.E) in Los Angeles when I was a teenager. I was so excited and remember thinking to myself that maybe one day I can have a voice like her and perhaps be heard.

I pray for angels to watch over Ms. Maia Campbell. She’s a beautiful girl with so much potential. Compton, CA and life in general can take its toll on a person. But, hopefully a light will shine on her and she can be Singing in the Comeback Choir!
