Good Evening,
Fam'
Today is February 23, 2012 and I feel completely ashamed of myself.
So Mrs. Viola Davis this post is for you.
Anyone who knows me personally knows that I absolutely love and adore the movie "Antwone Fisher". For those who are not familiar "Antwone Fisher is a 2002 American drama film directed by Denzel Washington, marking his directorial debut."
"The film is inspired by a true story, with the real Antwone Fisher credited as the screenwriter, and is based on his autobiographical book Finding Fish."
"The movie focuses on Antwone "Fish" Fisher (Derek Luke), a temperamental young man in the navy with a violent history. His father was killed before he was born and his teenage mother, Eva Mae Fisher, ended up arrested soon after and put in jail where she gave birth to him. He was then placed in an orphanage until she got out to claim him. When she never claimed him, Antwone was placed in a foster home at two years old ran by a religious couple Mr. and Mrs. Tate (Ellis Williams and Novella Nelson). There, Antwone faced abuse by Mrs. Tate mentally and physically for many years until he finally left the home at age sixteen. Living out on the streets for the next few years he decided to join the U.S. Navy to make something out of his life. However the rough life he had as child caused him to have a violent temper at this point. . . ."
I have watched this movie over and over and over again, and have had to press "pause" many times do to the characters similarities in my own life. However, today out of the blue I was watching a clip of Antwone Fisher and it never dawned on me that Antwone's mother Ms. Eva Mae Fisher was played by the incomparable Mrs. Viola Davis.
How in the world did I miss that?
Mrs. Viola Davis you are awesome in every since of the word.
Not only am I praying and claiming that you will win an Oscar for the movie The Help on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the 84th Academy Awards. I'm believing that you will continue to take the world by storm!
"Mrs. Viola Davis has starred in such notable films such as Traffic (2000), Antwone Fisher (2002), Solaris (2002), Disturbia (2007), Doubt (2008), Madea Goes to Jail (2009), Law Abiding Citizen (2009), Eat Pray Love (2010) and The Help (2011) just to name a few."
I look at Mrs. Davis and all I see is beauty and grace. Her skin glows, her smiles bedazzles, her voice mesmerizes, and her intelligence delights my soul.
Every moment she appears upon the screen, she becomes that character, she breathes new life into that character, she identifies with that character, and she gives that character a voice.
So it's quite easy to lose sight, that beyond the wardrobe, make-up, lights and camera is my beloved Mrs. Viola Davis.
So Mrs. Davis if you ever do read Bwood Chronicles aka The Lil' Blog That Could. . . Just know that I, B'wood considers you my Little Ray of Sunshine!
~ Love Always,
B'wood
