According to Associated Conctent ~ "Ugly Betty was canceled by ABC on Wednesday. Ugly Betty was canceled due to poor ratings, and there had been rumors Ugly Betty would be canceled for almost a year now. ABC just made it official on Wednesday by telling the producers of the show that this would be the swan song, and that they would be ordering fewer episodes than had previously been discussed. This season four ratings for Ugly Betty have not been stellar and have fallen even further from the average of 8 million viewers for season three episodes. Between the Friday time slot and now their Wednesday time slot at 10:00 p.m., Ugly Betty has pulled in just 5.11 million viewers per episode on average. The worse number is that the key demographic for Ugly Betty (18 to 49 year old viewers) is all the way down to 1.28 million per episode. These ratings are way down from the first season of Ugly Betty, where the show was getting 11.3 million viewers and a 3.7 mark in the 18-49 demographic. With the news that Ugly Betty has been canceled, we can expect a schedule of episodes to come from ABC soon as well."
